tiny little village and they have a beautiful church that is a must see. We also enjoyed the open-air food market and crafts. The tourist office sells local crafts that are quite beautiful. The interior of the Pousada do Castelo de Alvito is a restored Moorish castle from the 15th century. There are beautiful vaulted ceilings in the dining room. The meals served are delicious and the staff attentive. The town of Alvito has many beautiful doorways and windows of the Manueline style. It was really fun exploring a small town and the shock that such a beautiful castle was just steps away.
