Once upon a time, in the mid 1960s, there was a group of young musicians from the Taunton, Massachusetts area. They called themselves ‘The Plagues’. Eddie Costa was the lead singer and keyboard player for the group.

The group was very popular, was the house band at the Cotillion Ballroom and played all throughout Eastern Massachusetts. When the Cotillion changed its name to The Rabbit they were the opening act for groups like The Turtles, Sam the Sham ad the Pharaohs, The Beau Brummels, The Barbarians and many more.
In 1965 they recorded two songs at a Boston studio. The titles were ‘To Wander’ and ‘Cherrie Pie’.
Through the years Eddie continued to play music with a number of different bands in New England including Phluph, Styx, Holiday and Hollywood.
Then he moved west!
In Colorado he joined the Freddi-Henchi Band.
The Freddi-Henchi Band was a headlining act at venues across Colorado and as far west as California and as far east as Chicago.

The musicians were known as the best party band in Colorado, with everybody from John Denver to members of Earth Wind & Fire sitting in.

The groups he recorded with on Capitol Records and Polydor were "PJ Colt" and "Paul Pena"...
Other groups he was with were The Cortez Greer Show, Rock n' Rye, The Big Beats and All Keyed Up.
“I recorded with the Freddi Henchi band at Caribou Ranch in Colorado. It was a lot of fun and a great experience. And I was doing something that I loved to do. I got to open up shows for a lot of stars on the circuit including Linda Ronstadt, BB King, Alice Cooper, Jackson Browne, Gary Puckett and the Union Gap, Foghat, Donny Hathaway. I pretty much toured most of the United States and also did shows in Venezuela, and Canada.”
Here are some of the songs that he’s written and recorded since he retired from performing.
He felt lucky to be able to make a living doing something that he loved to do…and he had fun doing it!

He also recorded at Jimmi Hendrik’s Electric Ladyland in East Village New York and Intermedia Sound Studios in Boston when he was with Styx, Spire and with Skunk Baxter.
